THE BUDDHA'S PATH TO ENLIGHTENMENT

The story of the Buddha starts around 560 BCE when a young child that went by the name of Siddhartha Gautama, was born in the beautiful foothills of the Himalayas to a very wealthy family. His father received some sort of revelation that his son, Siddhartha, would be a great war leader or a great teacher.
When Siddhartha was a young adult he decided to give us his life of wealth to become a monk. The life of a monk is not easy, after years of physical degradation and suffering he decided to sit down and meditate. While he was meditating demons came to tempt him. However, he resisted them. After days of meditation he received enlightenment. And from that moment on he was known as the Buddha. He started to teach and instructed disciples about the path to enlightenment until he dies at the age of 80.
When the Buddha died Buddhism spread by missionaries all throughout Asia and Tibet influencing all the people that lived there.
